Interested in Taking a Class?

Virginia Tech created the nondegree program for individuals who want to take graduate-level courses and not necessarily complete a degree. Most graduate degree programs allow individuals to take up to 12 credit hours (typically four classes) as a nondegree student. For more information, call the center at 276-619-4311 or email us.

Current course offerings can be found on the University Registar website under the Timetable of Classes link. Select "Western" as the campus and then select the "term" you are interested in taking a course. Fall semester begins in late August and runs through early December. Spring semester begins in January and runs through the beginning of May. Virginia Tech also has a number of summer opportunities, which run May through August.

Online Classes

With Virginia Tech Online you can learn from home, your office, or anywhere you have access to the Internet. Courses are offered in a variety of topics. None of these degree programs require attendance on campus. If you are interested in something that is not listed above, please let us know. New programs are frequently being added.
